For those who are more audacious there is, also, the possibility to go on the journey which, through a ridge in the mountain in front of the farmhouse, leads to the ruins of the Tancia Castle. It is here in x century A.D., with the fall of the Carolingian Empire, a strengthened settlement was founded between

the Tiber's valley and Rieti. It is remembered by all as the Tancia Castle. Today there are only the ruins overlooked by a dilapidated tower ( the main element and characteristic of the Sabine fortifications ).

The minaret was obviously used as a look out tower and during "the war of the three abbots" it was of fundamental importance to help the Abbot Adingolfo hide within.
